This is Reddit's home for Computer Role Playing Games, better known as the CRPG subgenre! CRPGs are characterized by the adaptation of pen-and-paper RPG, or tabletop RPGs, to computers (and later, consoles.) These games tend to focus heavily on role-play and autonomy through the application of a player's chosen attributes and skills. The subgenre has since evolved with its own conventions separate from tabletop RPGs, but at its core, it still draws heavily from the tabletop source material.
The place to talk about Computer Role Playing Games. From classics like Ultima and Dragon Quest to the latest Final Fantasy and Dragon Age, all are welcome here.
